Art Auction Report

29th November 2019

A good crowd defied the floods and gathered to support the town’s foodbank, at the art auction on October 26th at Christ College.  Brecon foodbank are delighted to report that their charity auction “Artist Against Food Poverty” has been a tremendous success, raising over five thousand pounds, which was beyond any of our hopes and expectations.

Firstly we would like to thank all of the artist and owners of art who kindly pledged. Sharon Ling, David Grant and Christ College for providing us with a wonderful venue and invaluable assistance before and during the evening, and to Mike Chappell who provided the music for the preview. To Ardent Gallery, The Griffin Felinfach and Alpaca my Boots for donating such wonderful raffle prizes and Chris Jones and Amy Williams from McCartneys, Brecon who freely gave their professionalism to our auction. We are also grateful to Ardent, Found, Gate and Sable and Hogg galleries for selling tickets for the event, Chancellors for their leaflet drop and the Team at Brecon Spar for their continued support especially at our charity events. Lastly we would like to thank all who supported and made the evening a great success. The spectacular amount raised will ensure that Brecon foodbank can continue to support those in need. Thank you, together we are making a difference!
